Taproom Flat Fee
We’ve joined many local and independent restaurants in replacing tipping with an all-inclusive service model.
To support the long-term health of our taproom team, back-of-the-house team and business, we include a 20% flat fee in the taproom. This directly funds competitive and equitable wages and benefits for all full-time employees on the taproom, kitchen, brewery, and distribution teams.
The flat fee is added to all taproom orders; there is no tip line prompt at the start or end of your transaction, and there is no need to close your order before leaving. Cash tips are welcome, but never an obligation.
What does this charge pay for?
This funds equitable, competitive wages and benefits for all full-time employees. Our company-wide minimum wage is set at $19 per hour. Taproom hospitality team members make between $19 and $25 per-hour based on role, experience, and skills.
Our full-time benefits include employer paid:
medical - employer contribution funds individual coverage on a silver plan
dental
vision
life
401(k) with 3.5% match
local gym membership
$800 a year in taproom store credit for merchandise, uniforms, food and beverages
weekly take-home beer allocation
50% off taproom purchases above and beyond the store credit
3 weeks PTO for hourly employees and 2 weeks PTO for salaried employees
paid FMLA parental and bereavement leave
Where is the tip line?
We aim to show guests and employees exactly where their dollars are going by removing a tip line and including a flat fee. We strive to keep things transparent and simple for all of our guests whether they order at the counter or on their phone. Cash tipping is always an option, but it is never an expectation.
What is this fee?
A fee is added to taproom orders to increase staff wages and benefits. Our Flat Fee is not a gratuity for services provided by any employee and is not the property of any employee of Pryes Brewing Company LLC. See Minn. Stat § 177.23, subd. 9.
